Is German difficult to learn as a second language?
A lot of the students we meet for the first time, worry about the complexity of the German language and wonder if it will be difficult to learn. Some aspects of learning German are indeed more challenging than learning other languages, but here at GermanMind, we make a very conscious effort to make every lesson fun and enjoyable. Have a look at GermanMinds student stories and feedback and see how our current students improve their German and learn German with us.
What if I have to cancel a German class?
At GermanMind, we understand that unanticipated events happen occasionally in everyone’s life. Business meetings, project deadlines, traffic delays, car problems, snowstorms and illness are just a few reasons why one might consider cancelling your German lesson. Please keep in mind that no shows or late cancellations leave us with empty appointment times as well as other students that I could not book in.
In my desire to be effective and fair to all of my students, I have adopted the following policies:
- 24 hour advance notice is required when cancelling a private class. This allows the opportunity for someone else to book a lesson.
- If you are unable to give us 24 hour notice you will be charged 100% of the lesson. This amount must be paid prior to your next scheduled appointment.
- Arriving late: Lesson times have been arranged specifically for you. If you arrive late your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose lesson follow yours. Out of respect and consideration to your tutor and other students, please plan accordingly and be on time.
What happens if I need to stop the course mid way?
Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds for partly completed group courses, and it is not possible to offer your place to somebody else.
Is there are minimum number of students?
The minimum number of students is 5. If this is not reached, GermanMind reserves the right to postpone a course by 1 or 2 weeks. This has never happened so far but in such a case, we will do our best to offer you an alternative. If you do not want to accept the suggested alternative, any payments already made will be promptly refunded.
What if my classes takes place on a public holiday?
No classes take place on bank holidays. Our German group courses take place on Friday of the same week.
Who is Henry Hund?
Henry Hund is our beloved office dog and he has been part of our team since day one. Sometimes, we wonder if our students really book the classes to learn German or if they rather want to spend time cuddling Henry... By the way, "Hund" is the German word for dog.
