Here are a few of the learning hints I usually give my students.
When is the best time to learn German? And are your German evening courses effective when I join them after work?
Recent studies say that learning German is generally most effective between 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and then again from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. We offer private German classes as well as group courses at lunchtime and in the evenings. Our evening courses end at 8.30 or 9 pm the latest. According to the same studies, the lowest learning valley occurs between 4:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. - not exactly surprising - I can remember an enquiry for our German classes that early in the morning...
What do I have to do to learn German?
Building learning habits can be a great tool to use to improve your German language skills. Start with a routine and stick to it. My lovely student Ana has fixed dates when she learns German. Mondays in her group class Wednesdays for homework and a private class with me on Fridays at lunchtime. She also has a German partner. They speak German together and she quickly learned important sentences like "How do I say I love you in German" and "How do I say goodbye in German" and how to sound like a German native speaker.
Manage to learn something new and to have a German teacher to correct you. Especially in our German conversational classes, there is not much time for you to think what you want to say in German. But don´t worry, we are here to help you! Find ways to pre-commit like someone to hold you accountable. With a weekly German class, you will quickly find out how fast we will be a part of your weekly routine. Our German lessons are not only informative, they are also fun and enjoyable. You meet us and you will start thinking in German.
Just like going to the gym and building up strength, the more you learn German on a consistent basis, the more you’ll have of it.
